High-Quality Powder-Coated Play Structure Materials

Elephant®Play play structure materials are extremely durable and display the latest breakthroughs in playground safety engineering. A standard jungle gym has countless opportunities for injury and is often made with materials that will dent, corrode, or fall apart with the weather. A rotating climbing net is both an innovative and high-quality update of the jungle gym that uses thick reinforced nylon ropes. While climbing nets are a popular staple in today’s playground environments, very few playground products are as durable as Elephant®Play’s cord-based nets. Other play structure manufacturers often rely on ball joints made with crimped seamed aluminum that cannot be dismantled for repairs (see “Other Manufactured Ball Joint”). The result is often money wasted on unnecessary reparations. In addition, the unfinished crimped aluminum used by some other playground equipment manufacturers releases an oily residue that will blacken the hands of children. With a mechanical cross joint design that is covered with powder-coating, Elephant®Play ball joints will not stain the skin and are specifically made with cleanliness in mind (see “Elephant®Play Powder-Coated Ball Joint”).

Durable Attachment Pieces Designed for Playground Safety

Whether a swing set or a climbing net, Elephant®Play will always use the same premise of high-quality manufacturing to create an elegant and creatively engineered play structure. Some other cord-based playground manufacturers may use metal cable end attachments. These kinds of attachments are prone to rust and are often subject to peeling paint (see “Metal Attachments Used by Other Manufacturers”). In addition, metal reinforcements may also have protruding bolts and screws that are potentially hazardous to children. In contrast to the materials used by some other cord-based playground manufacturers, Elephant®Play cable end attachments are powder-coated and will never rust. The sleek, modern finish means that there are no dangerous protruding bolts or unnecessary pieces (see “Elephant®Play Cable End Attachment”). Unlike other metal attachments, Elephant®Play cable end attachments are installed with a 360 degree swivel that allows for flexible movement, eliminating the possibility of pinch points. The flexibility of the attachment decreases the possibility of breakage leading to injury. With long-lasting materials and a sturdy design, Elephant®Play attachment pieces are a simple, elegant engineering solution.   

Durable Swing Set Cable Connections with Nylon Bushing

A swing set is perhaps the most dynamic play structure on a playground, and thus subject to added wear. The cable connection of a swing set carries most of the weight of the swing and tends to wear down quickly with constant movement. With many other playground equipment manufacturers, the whole cable connection will need replacement or repair on an average of every two years (see “Other Swing Set Cable Connection without Insert”). Furthermore, the permanently installed attachment pieces mean that the connection must be sent in for repair with the whole swing set cable. Elephant®Play manufactures a nylon bushing insert for cable connections that acts to absorb added wear (see “Elephant®Play Cable Connection with Nylon Bushing”). Not only is the insert easy to replace, with a removable cable connection joint, but maintenance will be very minimal with the need for replacement arising only every five years.

Long-Lasting Playground Equipment Protected from Rain and Sun

Elephant®Play recognizes that changes in the weather may damage a play structure. Harmful UV rays can wear down playground equipment, cause paint to peel, and induce rope breakage over long periods of time. With enhanced UV protection, Elephant®Play play structures resist the destructive rays of the sun. In addition to the sun, rain and precipitation may similarly wear down playground equipment. Water and mud can easily accumulate on a play structure (see “Other Play Structure Decks”). A classic swing set or jungle gym might hold water for days, and the climbing nets of other playground equipment manufacturers can also build up dirt and precipitation. With time such conditions may create extensive damage to a play structure. Elephant®Play climbing nets feature decks with draining holes to avoid dirt and water build-up (see “Elephant®Play Self-Draining Deck”). Children can play even immediately following rainfall with no danger of slipping or falling, and the play structure stays in excellent long-term condition.

Elephant®Play Extended Playground Equipment Warranty

Elephant®Play is confident in the high quality of its materials. Should any damage arise that affects the structural integrity of a play structure (provided that the damage cannot be ascribed to vandalism, inappropriate use, improper maintenance, or improper installation according to the manufacturer’s instructions), a warranty guarantees the replacement of particular playground equipment parts. The Elephant®Play play structure warranty excludes cosmetic defects and includes:

• A life-time warranty on aluminum and stainless steel posts

• A 25-year warranty on moulded aluminum parts

• A 15-year warranty on tubular steel components

• A 10-year warranty protecting against cable rupture

• A 5-year warranty on decks

• A 5-year warranty on all additional play structure components

All warranty time frames are effective from the date of invoicing.
